Renewable energies set school precedent

Project: Heat supply of the primary school complex Glienicke / Nordbahn

Building client: Municipality of Glienicke / Nordbahn

Engineering office: IfEU Ingenieurgesellschaft für Energie- und Umwelttechnik mbH

Nemetschek brand involved: NEVARIS

Combining energy in the local district heating network

The aim of this project was to supply heat from renewable energies to a primary school complex and neighboring residential area. The Municipality of Glienicke opted for the design draft with the greatest proportion of renewable energies with consideration of a number of technical features: Establishment of a district heating network including the neighboring residential buildings; integrated supply to a new school cafeteria building; biomass boiler on the basis of woodchips and/or pellets to cover the heating base load with peak load gas boiler; optimized integration of the existing solar-thermal system; construction of any further systems; integration of an electricity-based block heat and power plant for independent and alternative power supply in the case of a blackout.
