The university hospital of the future
The New Karolinska Solna project is an enormous construction project, which is the size of 24 average-sized skyscrapers. The hospital facilities will consist of approximately 330 000 square metres total gross area and will open its doors to the first patients at the end of 2016. It provides highly specialised healthcare and conduct basic research, patient-focused clinical research and education. Close collaboration between healthcare and research will contribute to new research findings being turned into new treatment methods and medicines faster.
