TÜV SÜD certifies BIM solution from Allplan for the tenth time in succession

Only software supplier with certified graphic quantity takeoff / BIM solution for reliable cost planning

Munich, April 15, 2016 – For the tenth time in succession already, TÜV SÜD awarded Allplan its test mark for software quality and functionality. This certificate attests that the software is highly efficient and complies with the applicable standards for graphic quantity takeoff for selected building groups.

Allplan allows architects and engineers to carry out well-founded cost analyses and to make reliable budget statements. The smooth data exchange between the BIM software Allplan 2016 and the Nevaris software for construction cost management unlocks the possibility of graphic quantity takeoff. For the tenth time already, the latter was the prime concern of the testers at TÜV SÜD – they tested and audited the interaction with Nevaris for the second time.

“TÜV SÜD can confirm for the tenth time in succession that Allplan is an efficient solution for reliable cost planning. Allplan is the only software solution for the construction industry that has been awarded this quality mark,” said Lorenz Lachauer, Head of Product Management Architecture at Allplan, with delight.

Standard-compliant, precise, and reliable

TÜV SÜD tested the functionality and quality of the graphic quantity takeoff using a requirement catalog that took the applicable norms – such as the German Construction Contract Procedures (Vergabe- und Vertragsordnung für Bauleistungen – VOB) – and standards into account. “During the audit, we picked out selected building groups such as walling, reinforced concrete walls, and finishing surfaces, and examined them carefully,” explained Siegfried Muckenschnabl, a product specialist at TÜV SÜD.

Were all the functions VOB-compliant and correctly mapped? Is the software development process for the connection of the building groups fully documented? Which quality checks are carried out? Allplan passed all of these tests successfully. Siegfried Muckenschnabl explained: “All the requirements for functionality and quality were fulfilled both for the selected building groups in Nevaris and also for Allplan 2016 and the construction cost planning.”

Design2Cost: Quantity takeoff for reliable cost planning

Graphic quantity takeoff is a component of the Allplan Design2Cost planning method. It combines the Allplan BIM software with the Nevaris cost management and tendering, awarding, and accounting system, as well as the Allplan IBD construction database. Design2Cost provides designers with sound features including a quantity structure for cost calculation and invitations to tender. Geometric or qualitative changes are taken into account immediately and flow into the building model. In this way, Design2Cost provides a simple entry into the BIM working method.
