First museum in passive house construction

The new building of the Ravensburg Art Museum in Southern Germany is the world's first certified museum in passive house construction and was awarded with both the German Architecture Prize and the German Sustainability Prize. This is a great achievement because, for example, unlike a typical passive house construction, the windows had to be very small in order to protect the works of art from excessive sunlight.

The museum, distinguished by its complex structure and low power consumption, is perfectly integrated into the historic old town of Ravensburg. Among other things, old bricks were reused. The museum houses one of the largest private collections in Southern Germany. The architects designed the museum with Vectorworks software.

The builder, Georg Reisch, chose the commercial software Nevaris Finance for all the accounting processes – from the invoice to the balance sheet. With the software, the entire construction site could be displayed on the monitor, including supplier units.
