Use of solid concrete results in filigree construction

From a bird’s eye view, a gas station in Matúškovo in Slovakia boasts three conjoined snail-house shaped discs with diameters of 8 to 10 meters. The interconnected discs are centrally supported by hollow, funnel-shaped columns that convey rainwater to the drain system. The rings of lights on the underside of the discs provide effective illumination at night and make the concrete discs appear to be floating 5 meters up in the air.
