Nemetschek posts excellent results for 2007
Higher dividend planned than last year
Munich, 27. March 2008 - Nemetschek AG achieved superb figures in terms of sales and operating profit in fiscal 2007 and thus managed to sustain the positive trend of recent years. The company is still on a growth course and has successfully completed the integration of Graphisoft. “With the very good accounts for 2007 we have proven that the takeover and integration of Graphisoft was the right step. We are now the number one player in Europe in our market segment and we want to further expand on this position,” said Ernst Homolka, CFO and Board Spokesman, Nemetschek AG, on presentation of the balance sheet in Munich.Strong growth, strong cash flow
Sales amount to 146.2 million euros and, thanks to the integration of Graphisoft, are 36% above the previous year's value (107.5 million euros). With 32.5 million euros, Graphisoft makes a substantial contribution to Nemetschek’s sales. On an international level, sales rose by 50% to 92.6 million euros. The share contributed by operations abroad is thus almost two thirds. In Germany, Nemetschek increased sales by 17.3% to 53.6 million euros. With sales of 118.8 million euros, the Design business unit is Nemetschek AG’s top revenue generator by far.
The EBITDA rose by 62.9% to 33.6 million euros (previous year: 20.7 million euros). The operating profit (EBIT) for the 2007 financial year rose by 34.3% to 23.9 million euros (previous year: 17.8 million euros). The net earnings amount to 15.3 million euros (previous year: 14.4 million euros). The earnings per share rose to 1.52 euros (previous year: 1.41 euros).
The cash flow for the period increased to 30.8 million euros in 2007 (previous year: 21.3 million euros). The cash flow from ordinary activities improved by 38.5% to 25.3 million euros. Nemetschek thus continues to be a company with strong liquid assets. The equity capital totals 62.9 million euros (previous year: 55.1 million euros).
On December 31, 2007, the balance sheet total was 186.5 million euros (previous year: 204.1 million euros).
Higher dividend for shareholders
The managing board and supervisory board will propose a higher dividend payment than last year (0.56 euros) at the annual general meeting on May 21, 2008. “We want our shareholders to participate in the positive development of the company and we are planning a dividend of 0.65 euros,” said Ernst Homolka, CFO and Board Spokesman. The company is pursuing a continuous dividend policy and is thus paying a dividend to its shareholders for the fourth time in succession.
International presence in 142 countries
Thanks to its exceptionally broad international position, Nemetschek is less dependent on individual foreign markets. With the established brands Allplan, Archicad, VectorWorks, SCIA and other successful brands under the Nemetschek AG umbrella, the company is market leader for AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) software solutions in Germany and Europe. “We have consistently expanded our international activities. I am convinced that a strong as possible presence in our foreign markets is the right path to more growth and increased earnings. Furthermore, our international orientation reduces our dependence on individual markets,” explained Ernst Homolka.
Outlook and goals
According to experts, the demand in the AEC sector in the software industry is set to increase worldwide, despite the uncertainties as a result of the current financial crisis. “Nemetschek will build on today’s successes with new, innovative products and its well-structured sales division. In Asia and Eastern Europe in particular, but also in the German-speaking countries where we are traditionally strong,” adds Ernst Homolka. The goals for 2008 and 2009 are cautiously optimistic. The company management currently expects sales to grow in the upper single-digit range while retaining its excellent margins.
Technology and innovation leadership
With its established brand products, Nemetschek has been the leading software vendor for the 3D-based design of buildings and structures for years. This is a trend that is very likely to continue. Ever more powerful computers and programs have made working in 3D possible for more people. As the leading innovator and technology company, this offers Nemetschek a great deal of potential for further growth.
Nemetschek has the appropriate solutions for all the challenges architects, construction companies and facility managers have to face. Showcase projects like the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the world’s largest solar power plant in Spain, the new Danube bridge near Bratislava and the Massaro house in the USA, a new building based on plans by Frank Lloyd Wright, were designed using Nemetschek software.
