Nemetschek Scia starts office in the United Arab Emirates
Herk-de-Stad, 29. October 2008 - Nemetschek Scia nv is expanding its activities in the Gulf region by establishing a representative office as of 1st November 2008. Although several Nemetschek companies are active on the market, this Nemetschek Scia office is the first office of the group in this region. It is established at the Dubai Silicon Oasis, a free zone with easy access to Dubai’s International Airport, Seaport (Jebel Ali Port) and Dubai’s central business district. Silicon Oasis has a high end IT infrastructure facilitating the operations of the Nemetschek Scia office for online services. Support and sales staff will operate from the office under the management of the Scia regional head of sales Mr. Charles Wilby.
Nemetschek is participating at the coming Big 5 Exhibition in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre 23-27th November; together with Nemetschek Engineering; the software author for precast modelling (Allplan Precast). Nemetschek Scia is showing its product portfolio for structural engineering design. A special emphasis is given on the successful use of its flagship product Scia Engineer for high rise buildings. Most currently used software for high rise buildings in the region is inadequate in giving a correct engineering design due to lacking functionalities in finite element mesh refinements, column shortening and construction stages. Scia Engineer has a more general and technically deeper approach for designing multi-material structures under extreme conditions. And Nemetschek Scia is taking a strong defense of the position of the structural engineer in the ongoing BIM process changes in the industry.
